I'm not gone.

"Give thanks in all circumstances:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalanians 5:18

I have had to be away from blog land for while, not by choice but by circumstances beyond anyone's control. In December I told you about the death of my husband's sister. She was 51 and died from cancer. She left behind a 10 year old daughter that I have been helping her father with. A small background is the child is a lovely girl but has never in her life been made to do anything and therefore knows no responsibilities. Her dad has taked the loss of his wife not well and really hasn't done much in the last three months. To our great sadness a week ago he died of a heart attack. So for the last week our family has just been so numb and overwhelmed. It looks as if my whole life will now be given a great challenge. There is no other choice for the child but to come and live with us. Keep in mind my kids are 27 and 25 so it has been a while since I have had a small one and especially one with such great loss in her life. So for right now we are trying to keep  above the water and not sink. I have not read a blog in over a week and believe me I miss it terribly. I am not going away from blog land but it may be awhile before I am back on regular.

I do  owe a couple of thank yous. Pam from Crossroad of my mind passed on a pattern to me. Thank you Pam.

The last exchange I sent to Edit - Fuggosegeim. In the package I sent her a lot of my Aida cloth that I will not be using. She graciouly sent me a wonderful thank you gift of some delightful tea and stitched me a lovely little banner. Thank you so much Edit. I have manage to sip a couple of cups of tea to help calm me down.

Sorry I can not get it to stop being sideways.

"My friends, you must do all you can to show that God has
really chosen and selected you. If you keep on doing this,
you won't stumble and fall."
2 Peter 1:10

I have to believe God has put this innocent little girl into our care for a reason. I do have a strong faith and a wonderful loving family and know it will be my job to pass this love on to her.

Pam and I are still leaving next week for our cross stitch camp in Tulsa, OK. My family says I need a break before all this becomes permanent. Pam said if I teach her to cross stitch that means I can have double the stash. I like her thinking the only problem is she will have to have the room all my stash is in and I will have to find a new place for it.

Know I am thinking of all of you and sorry I am missing keeping caught up with your lives. Give me a  bit and I will be back to reading soon.

Always keep love in your stitches,
Teresa

Theresa what a loss you have faced. I can't imagine what is going through this little girls mind. So good of you to commit to raising her. I just know that through all this pain she will be a blessing. So glad you are full of faith. My pastor once told me when feeling overwhelmed ask God to just fill you to overflowing with his love. His love casts out all evil and sadness.

I will be praying for you. Keep us updated from time to time. God works good in all things for those that love him and are called according to his purpose. He certainly has called you to raise this little sweetheart. My heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry, Teresa! I wish I could take her home with me. I taught 5th grade at one point and I just love 10 year old girls. They are a perfect age to want to emulate an older woman that they admire. They make so many mistakes, though, and even small things are huge to them, so I can imagine that she is overwhlemed by the turn her life just took and took again and she probably wonders deep down if in some way it was her fault. My heart just goes out to her!! Enjoy your time away at the retreat. That will be such a nice break. Let me know if you ever need to chat!

Blessings!

Oh, Teresa, I can't even imagine what that poor little girl is going through... I hope and pray that she'll get the love and guidance she needs to help her deal with her losses in the best way possible...

It can't be easy becoming a mom again at your age--you are a wonderful person to start over again when you already have grown children...

My heart is filled with sadness. I am in shock really but it isn't unusual for someone to pass from a broken heart. I KNOW you are a great mom and will take this new role in stride but you do need to mourn before you can truly give of yourself. I am praying for you and send many hugs your way my friend.
