One more finish and a first.

"Make every effort to add to your faith goodness;
and to goodness, knowledge: and to knowledge,
self-control; and to self-control, perseverance.
For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure,
they will keep you from being ineffective and
unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 1:5-6

I have finished another project in my basket. Well really I did two but one is for an exchange and I can't show that one just yet. I am a sucker for those kits all made up with all the goodies included. I know they cost more but they come all packaged up and are so cute. I purchased a Shepherd's Bush scissor fob kit at the fall retreat. Those scissor fob kits get me every time. I really enjoyed stitching this one. It had a couple of different stitches other than the traditional cross stitch, one I had not done before and was happy with the way it turned out. I finished it just as the pattern called for.

I loved the saying on this one.
Front: My scissors I'll keep

Back: Like a sheperd his sheep.

The blue line at the top was the new stitch for me, the double backstitch.

Now for the first in my title. Last week my husband and I went for a drive to Seal Beach to have lunch because the weather was so nice. I knew it was about 15 minutes away from a wonderful stitch shop. I took my list of threads I needed to finish packing up 10 of the projects I had in my basket. I was so good, I did not buy a single new pattern while I was there. I don't think I have ever been in a shop and not bought a pattern. OK I wasn't all that good, the cute little pair of scissors with my fob was a new purchase. I know the kit even came with purple scissors (not my favorite color) but those were so small and cute. I left with 18 new threads, a pair of scissors and some linen. As I checked out she was showing my the new patterns by the register and I had to say I am sorry but I have to finish projects in my basket before any new ones come to my home. She just laughed and said "I hear that alot in Januray".  With my new threads I have started CC - Bunny Hop.

How are you doing on your stitching resolutions for the new year?

A heartfelt thank you for all your wonderful comments. Each one puts a smile on my face.

Always keep love in your stitches,
Teresa

This is a sweet design. Love that double backstitch too. Kudos on your restraint at the store. I went to my LNS last Saturday for specific items in mind and left with way more than planned. :)

That is just ADORABLE! I haven't seen that pattern before. Love the sheep charm on the back :o) Too cute.

I still think you had a successful shopping trip even though you didn't buy a pattern. You can still fondle threads ;o) LOL!
