Sent and Received

"I have come to believe giving and
receiving are really the same.
Giving and receiving, not given and taken."
Arthur Unknown

This week I went to the post office to mail off my exchange piece for the Rotating Designer Exchange. When I returned home in my mail box was my piece. I received this wonderful stand up from Elisa - Old Ragged Threads. Thank you so much Elisa it is beautiful. She stitched on the prettiest shade of light green. I really need to try more colors. I seemed to stitch most on white and off white. I did do my Halloween pieces on a piece of white I dyed with tea. (OK I know that is still off white).

The piece I sent has already been received. It only went a couple of cities away. I really was tempted to just drive the piece over but getting mail is so fun. I sent to Marjorie - The pumpkin patch stitcher. I saw on her blog she was counting down to Halloween so I stitched up 3 small pieces and sewed them to a zippered bag.

I finished another Halloween piece for my retreat set. I had some big round magnets and wondered if I could make my own needle minder. Here is what I came up with, it is only 2 inches across.

I have watched the soap opera "All My Children" for almost the entire 41 year run. It sadden me deeply when it ended last week.  I feel like a part of my day is missing. Unfortunately a new drama in the blogging world took it's place this week. I always knew my soap was not real but this weeks blog drama was real and it did hurt so many. I got involved in exchanges to meet new people and share my stitching. To me it was more about the giving and what I received back was a wonderful added bonus. In life we have all received a gift that was not us, but hopefully we graciously said "Thank You" and moved on. We either returned the item or gave it to a thrift store. But life went on. We must remember in the blog world what you post on your blog and in your comments is there for everyone to see. You really must think before you press that send button, is this what I want the world to see about me. Just try and remember we all humans with feelings and be considerate of others. I have found stitchers can be some of the nicest people you will want to meet. I cherish all the new friendships I have made while blogging. I have received some wonderful advise and learned so many new ways to finish my stitching.

"In the face of unjust criticism we can become
bitter or better, upset or understanding,
hostile or humble, furious or forgiving."
William Arthur Ward

Always keep love in your stitches,
Teresa

PS -  I am going to the taping of "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday. Will tell you all about it when I get back.

Thank you for your wise words Teresa. I know that personally the words I commented have been lying heavy on my heart. They weren't that bad, but they were partly directed at someone faceless that I should have remembered could have been someone I know in this small community. . it was and I now regret and am deeply sorry for those words. Hopefully it will teach me to do better in future.

Your stitching looks lovely, the needleminder is such a good idea for a finish. Elisa's finish is so sweet too.

God bless,
Sarah

I missed out on the past weeks happenings, but you give some good advice. We should all always think about what we're saying!! Your needle minder and bag are both looking fabulous. I love the design on the needle minder. It's so cute!!! And your pincushion is cute too. I think I used to have one of those tomatoes, lol.
